Next, consider the message, purpose and audience for a picture. Next, which details make a drawing convincing and which stand in the way of reading? Whether it’s a nice font, balanced colours or straight lines, these details make a difference. And finally, practice. Practice a lot. It is difficult to produce a perfect drawing, whether drawn freehand or with a tool, but there is always scope for better.
